Today, “going green” isn’t just good for the environment — it’s also good for business. A Nielsen study found that 55% of consumers worldwide would pay a premium for products offered by eco-friendly and socially responsible companies. In another study, 65% of consumers surveyed said they want to buy from brands that advocate sustainability.

Some key highlights from the report revealed that an average of 70% of the raw materials Redwood Classics Apparel consumes are knit within a 100-mile radius of their factory. They also found that, by producing locally in Canada, the company is able to minimize shipping emissions and material waste. And finally, Redwood Classics uses landfill-destined deadstock and turns it into upcycled fabric.
“We hope we can make an impact because really, it’s not just about us,” Cheng explained. “It's about everyone else, too, and how can we work together to make a better world. It sounds idealistic, but if we're able to make an impact, that’s the ultimate goal.”
