Custom Gift Ideas for Working Moms

Being a mom has always been a challenge. But, never has this been truer than the past 12 months, as moms have had to juggle working from home while taking care of the kids and staying on zoom calls. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought into focus the pressures that working moms are under every day. So, we wanted to share a few tips and tricks as well as gift ideas to make life a little easier on the working moms in your life.

Read on to find out how to make life as a working mom easier and more enjoyable.

How to Reduce Stress for Working Moms

It’s no wonder working moms are feeling stressed. There just don’t seem to be enough hours in the day to achieve everything you need to do!

One of the key lessons that I have learned over the last fifteen years of being a working mom is that there is no balance - only blending and meshing both your work and personal life. And no time has required more of this blending than now - making a snack for a kiddo while on a call or helping with homework while reviewing a balance statement is true case and point.

To help check off a few things on plate, I keep my lists with me (either on my phone or in my calendar). I love the productivity planner as well as leveraging services like Pipedrive and Evernote to help keep me organized. During waiting in line to pick up my kiddos, watching a soccer match, or waiting in between, I check off a few things in between. Whether checking in with a client or posting something on social media, I leverage the in-between time so that I do not feel overwhelmed. While I am driving to and from work, I listen to Clubhouse or Podcasts or Audiobooks, to keep my learning and training current. I have found that when one area of my life starts backing up, I get behind in multiple areas so staying organized and planning ahead a must.

Don’t be afraid to also delegate. One of the most common mistakes working moms make is believing they have to do it all. Hand over work tasks to colleagues or chores around the home to your partner. See if there are opportunities for you and your child's teammates to ride share. This also frees up some of your driving time throughout the week to give you some breathing room.

How Working Stay-at-Home Moms Can Manage Time

Managing time can be one of the most challenging aspects of being a working mom when there are so many demands on it!

So our next tip is to be organized. Plan as far ahead as you can, which will help you streamline your routines. Moving the needle just 2% each daily can make a big impact. Just making small steps toward your goals. For my desk, I love this desktop whiteboard to take quick notes and memos. We also love this bamboo desk charging pad to keep all of necessities within arms reach and our devices charged. Our CEO, Sara Webb, held a course on this for our sales teams in getting organized in this Sales Training video.

For the mom that is constantly on-the-go, check out these customized gifts to help! As a mom constantly

on the go and juggling multiple activities, I would be lost without this Cargo Carrier. It keeps me organized for sports and work no matter what is happening next. This mobile office has helped to keep both documents and to-do lists safe as well as prepared to handle any list while on the soccer fields. And this customized convertible tote and backpack from Samsonite enables any mom to stay organized in front of clients or on-the-go.

You can even use the tools available on your cell phone to manage your time. Set alarms to remind you when to complete tasks. I rename my alarms based on what I need to be focused on. The alarms act as a reset when I get pulled into multiple directions. There are also a number of time management apps to help you work through your commitments. Grab a phone holder to give you easy access to your phone and all the information stored on it.

Schedule Some Time For Self-Care

You’re great at organizing appointments, meetings, and deadlines for work, so use these skills to block out time for yourself. Schedule time in your diary to pamper yourself and recharge your batteries. Grab some gorgeous smelling soap as an incentive to stick to your commitment to yourself and light a candle or aromatherapy to calm the nerves and reengerize. Spruce up your home or work environment with a great plant.

Make a pledge to switch off once your working day ends, setting a time to stop checking your messages and come out of the “work zone.” Change out of your work clothes and into something comfortable as you wind down, and treat yourself to a cocktail with this fun kit that puts the “happy” into “hour” at the end of the day or a custom designed wine glass from Corkcicle!
